MEET ERIC

Eric Ellison has been married to Veronica Ellison for 25 years. They have two boys Eli 23 years old and Seth 21 years old. Eric believes strongly in God and the constitution of the United States of America. Eric has 24 years of Law enforcement experience.


Eric started working for the Arizona Department of Corrections in 1996 until 2002, Where he began his law enforcement career. Eric started at the Arizona State Prison Globe Complex as a Correctional Officer. Eric soon after became a work crew supervisor and ran an inmate work crew supervising 12 inmates at Roosevelt lake for the US Forest Service. Eric was also an assistant commander for the Tactical Support Unit in charge of riot control, escape and tracking, and prison searches.

Eric Ellison: About

Eric started the Arizona Highway Patrol in 2002 assigned to the District 11 area 3 Globe squad. Eric showed he was very proficient in apprehending DUI’s and Drugs, and was sent to a Drug Recognition Expert School just after 8 months of employment. This school generally required 3 years of experience to attend. Shortly after Eric became a drug recognition Expert instructor. Eric attended Florida ITPM college medical foundation for DRE. Later Eric Attended Borkenstein for expert witness School, and became an expert witness allowing him to testify as such through many states and foreign countries. Eric was appointed the drug recognition expert coordinator for the Southern Bureau Division which covers Greenlee, Graham, Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz counties. In 2006 Eric transferred to the District 9 area 3 Safford squad and was assigned to live in Morenci Arizona and patrol Greenlee County until 2009 when he again transferred to Safford and lived in Pima Arizona. Eric remained patrolling Greenlee County, Graham County and parts of Cochise county until 2015 where he supervised the Willcox area 4 squad until 2016.


In 2016, Eric accepted the Chief Deputy Position at the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office. Eric decided to retire from the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office in July of 2018.


After Eric retired, he retained employment for the Greenlee County Attorney’s Office where Eric currently remains employed.


What Eric can do for the citizens of Greenlee County:
-Build a bridge between our citizen’s and the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office.
-Build and maintain an investigations division which can speed up and resolve cases that are lingering within our county.
-Bring a school resource officer to our schools.
-Stop and apprehend drugs.
-Start a Greenlee County Drug coalition which can help those who are asking for help. Counseling programs, etc.
-Start a supervised inmate work crew program. Give assistance to our elderly
cleaning their yards, cleaning public park, cemeteries etc.
-Give and maintain a structured Sheriff’s Office for Greenlee County. Eric will give direction, and goals to our deputies, training our deputies to be more efficient in their duties and responsibilities.
-Not only protect your 2 nd amendment rights, Eric will protect all of your rights as Sheriff.


Eric has always worked hard to keep the citizens of this county safe and

secure and will remain vigilant in doing so.
